Slack emojis presented as text (:emojiname:) instead of actual emoticons in Airtable

Hi all :wave:
 

When I forward messages from Slack via Zapier into Airtable, the emojis are presented in Airtable as text (like :emojiname:) instead of showing the actual emoticons in Airtable. How can I solve this, so the Emojis are presented in Airtable just like in Slack?

Hi @Harold 

There likely won’t be a simple solution for this since there are so many emojis and emoji variations.

Essentially, it’s involve the concept of a Code step, because there could be 0+ emojis present, and a very robust lookup table or an API to do lookups.
