Setting up Zapier integration for POWR Form Builder and BigCommerce

Hello! 

We will be using POWR Form Builder to create several registration forms for BigCommerce account creation. 

We are keen on setting up a Zap to automate the process of creating a new account in BigCommerce whenever a registration form is submitted. 

Here’s a brief overview of the process we’re aiming to achieve: 

  1. We have four customer types, each requiring different information in the registration form 
  2. Customers will use POWR Form Builder (four separate forms) to create their accounts 
  3. We want to automatically generate BigCommerce accounts for all registered customers
  4. Email notifications about new customer registrations will be sent to a designated team (four different emails)
  5. After confirmation and approval of customer information, customers will receive a notification 
  6. Approved customers will then log in to the website to start ordering products 

We are reaching out to seek guidance on how to effectively integrate Zapier to accomplish this multi-step process. Any insights, tips, or step-by-step instructions would be immensely appreciated.

Hello Troy, 

 

Yes, I have reviewed the triggers/actions for each app. 

I am currently working on creating an account using the “New Form Response in POWR Form Builder” trigger and having trouble connecting BigCommerce with Zapier. 

I’m getting: 

We hit an error adding your new account

authentication failed: The app returned “Not found”. 

  1. Make sure you click “Allow” or “Accept” on the permission popup
  2. Double check your Account has the correct permissions
  3. Check out our help docs for more information 

I’m created an API account from BigCommerce → Settings → Store-level API accounts and have: 

  • Content, Customers, Marketing, Products - modify 
  • Information & Settings - read-only 

What is causing the issue?

Hello, 

Now that my BigCommerce is connected with the Zapier, I had a chance to test if the account creation is working. 

Currently, the account gets created but it doesn’t input all the submitted values to the account. 

Also, even the same email exists, it overwrites the values instead of notifying the customer that their account already exists. 

 

Zap: 

  1. (Trigger) POWR Form - New form response in POWR Form Builder 
  2. Search Customer in BigCommerce → Create BigCommerce Customer if it doesn’t exist yet? Yes. 
  3. Send Email in Gmail - “Thanks for your registration! We will email you when the account information is verified within 24 hours.”

What process am I missing here?

I’m not sure why the company, address, and phone has no value..

In BigCommerce, you can check the specific Customer by ID (e.g. 1427) to troubleshoot specific field values at the time the Zap Run processed.
