Hi there! I would like to know how to send the entire template that sendgrid provides.  Am I able to add a customization field and include the template id that way?  Thanks in advance.

Hi there @patech_patrice - Thanks for the question! It looks like the only Trigger we currently have for SendGrid is the Send Email one. This means the feature you’re requesting isn’t yet available. I've submitted this as a feature request to the team in charge of this integration on your behalf.

While not all feature requests are implemented, customer feedback like this is a huge part of how we continue to grow our platform. If this feature does get developed, we'll reach out to you directly to let you know!

Hi @patech_patrice!

Based on what you’re asking, it sounds like you’d like to be added to an existing feature request we have to Add a Transactional Email Template as an option in Send Email action. Does that sound like what you’re hoping to do? I’ve gone ahead and added your vote for that feature so if that’s NOT what you were asking, please let me know!

The whole point of sendgrid is I can have templates in their for specific emails. To work with Zapier we need to be able to use a TemplateID and fill in the relevant form inputs.

Please implement.

Hi @Akrause

Good question.

Feedback and feature requests should be submitted via a ticket to Zapier Support to be logged: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

The  workaround is to use the SendGrid API: https://docs.sendgrid.com/api-reference/how-to-use-the-sendgrid-v3-api/authentication

App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app as an action step: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

Hey there, @Akrause! I hope you don’t mind, I ended up merging your request into the original thread. 🙂

I did add your vote to this feature request so you’ll kept in the loop if and when this gets implemented!

While I wish I had an ETA to offer, in the interest of full transparency this particular app is owned and managed by our friends over at SendGrid. We’re always happy to collect votes and communicate feedback but ultimately the decision to move forward lays with their team.

Thanks for joining the Zapier community and keep us posted with any other questions you have for us. We’re always happy to lend a hand. 👋🏽

My case was simple enough that the following worked: I went to Sendgrid and exported the dynamic template in HTML. Then I headed to Zapier and pasted the HTML into the HTML field (instead of Text), and then manually replaced the handlebars. Worked like a charm.
