Question

Send email from shared email in Outlook

We use Microsoft 365 / Outlook for our emails.

What we would like to do is, when someone submits a form, send the customer an automatic email from a shared email. Right now we use sales@company.com in a distribution list.

In Zapier, I tried setting the “From” address to sales@company.com and I got an error saying that outlook could not send from sales@comany.com and to try something else.

How can I accomplish what I’m trying to do?

Hi @rwood_ryan

Good question.

Did you connect the Outllook account for that email address to Zapier?

Check here: https://zapier.com/app/connections

Does Microsoft Outlook need any special plan pricing?

You would need to either have an Office 365 subscription, a Microsoft live.com account with Outlook or individual purchase of Microsoft Exchange Online subscriptions.

On-premises Exchange servers are not supported.

@Troy Tessalone I connected my email address, which is the owner of the distribution (shared email). That didn’t work. Microsoft has a concept of “distributions” which are used for shared emails.
