Hello!

I’m new to Zapier, and could use some assistance. I’m trying to set up a Zap where any time an email with attachments comes in to Gmail, the attachments are saved in G-drive. I have this working for 1 attachment, but there ar eother use cases I need to set this up for.

  • multiple attachments on 1 email (e.g. 2 pdfs attached to 1 email). I’d need them both to pull into g-drive with their respective file names.
  • attachments that were forwarded to the email group. E.g. Someone received an email with an attachment- they then forward that email (with the attachment) to an email group. I need that attachment from the forwarded email to show in the g-drive.

Any assistance would be helpful!

Best,

Joe

Hi @jp3tmi

Use this Zap trigger: Gmail - New Attachment

Hey @Troy Tessalone

Yes- I am using that trigger, though when I run tests with mulitple attachments, I’m only getting 1 attachment that pulls through. Below is my “upload file” portion of the workflow.

I’m still only receiving 1 attachment in my drive when i send multipe attachments in tests.

@jp3tmi

Zap triggers once per email attachment.

So if you have 3 attachments on an email, that will result in 3 Zap Runs.

Try turning your Zap ON and testing live, then review the Zap Run history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step: https://zapier.com/app/history/

When manually testing a Zap step, that depends on the selected record in the Zap trigger step.

Got it- that seems to be working. Last little bug here:

For each each doc that comes in, Zapier appears to be concatenating/conjoining the names of the documents together. So each separate doc is named with both of the document names.

Is there an edit i can make so that each document has it’s own name?

Really appreciate the assistance!

@jp3tmi

You need to use the SINGULAR version of variables for Attachment, not Attachments.
