Salesforce and Constant Contact email list sync - how many tasks?

I want to set up a sync between Salesforce and Constant Contact and vice-versa.

Here is the SF to CC sync criteria:

  • IF contact is in SF AND
  • Active is checked AND
  • Email Opt Out is unchecked AND
  • Mailing list has a particular value THEN
  • Add contact to a predefined mailing list in Constant Contact

Here is the CC to SF sync criteria:

  • IF contact is in Constant Contact AND
  • Status is equal to “Unsubscribed” AND
  • Contact exists in SF THEN
  • Check off Email Opt Out field in SF

How would these tasks get calculated if I have 4,000 active contacts?  I suppose the first pass is one thing, then it’s just occasional passes as contacts are added or unsubscribe.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi @c_schondel

Here’s an article to learn about Tasks in Zaps: https://zapier.com/help/manage/history/learn-about-tasks-in-zapier

Check out the available Zap triggers/actions for each app:

Constant Contact: https://zapier.com/apps/constant-contact/integrations

Salesforce: https://zapier.com/apps/salesforce/integrations

Constant Contact only has these Zap triggers available.

Salesforce has these Zap triggers available.

Does Zapier support 2-way syncing?

No. Zapier does not support two-way syncing between apps right now.
Think of Zaps like one-way workflows.

In certain scenarios, you can fake two-way syncing by setting up 2 different Zaps that perform opposite actions.
For instance, you could have one Zap that creates a new spreadsheet row for every new contact created and another that creates a new contact for every new spreadsheet row.

Note: Be careful not to create a Zap Loop. Learn how to avoid Zap loops.

@c_schondel

FYI: I’d make more sense to do a 1 time manual update of data across the 2 apps, then (if you can) configure Zaps to manage updates across the 2 apps.

Thanks for the info.  I had looked at the documentation, but didn’t realize there were limitations in what triggers were available in which app.

Because there is no option on the Constant Contact side to add a contact to a list (at least that is how I am reading it) that would be the deal breaker.

Thanks!
