When using a Zap to automatically send a reminder to an email in Gmail, I would like to make visible in the subject that it’s a reply (Re:). This works when I choose plain body text, but doesn’t work when I choose for HTML body. How can I solve this?
The Zap is triggered by a change in Airtable, then searches for the old email in my sent items in Gmail, and then sends a reply to that message with Gmail. I use the ‘thread ID’ from the search step to make sure the action step is a reply to that particular message.
Re: not added to subject, when using Gmail Reply action with HTML body

Hey folks, just stopping by here to share that the feature request has now been implemented! 🎉
In case you missed the email notification that went out here’s what you need to know:
We’ve added a new feature that allows you to edit the subject line when using the Reply to Email Action, including the ability to add “Re:” for more traditional email threading. The original email’s body content is also preserved in your replies.
There’s nothing you need to do—this feature is available for you to use right away when setting up or editing your Zaps.
Thanks so much for everyone’s patience on this long-standing feature request—we’re excited for you to give it a try! And if you run into any issues with it, feel free to start a new topic or reach out to our Support team directly and we’ll be happy to assist.
In the meantime, happy Zapping! ⚡
