The QuickBooks “New Invoice” trigger has a field called “pdf” with a value of “(Exists but not shown)”. What does this mean?

In subsequent steps this field value becomes “hydrate||| ….long string of letters and numbers...] |||hydrate”

For context, I’m attempting to save QuickBooks invoices as .pdf files in Google Drive when they are created.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Taxprepper

File/Attachment (Exists but not shown) means that a file object is available.

Think of it as a temporary copy of the file.

These field values are meant to be put in fields that are designated for files/attachments, indicated by the file icon.

Here are some help docs:

Thanks for your response. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Hi @Troy Tessalone,

Just to follow-up:

  1. When uploading the .pdf to Google Drive, I receive the error: “ExternalHTTPSConnectionPool(host='www.googleapis.com', port=443): Read timed out. (read timeout=39)”
  2. When uploading the .pdf to Dropbox, the .pdf uploads, but it uploads as a blank file.

Any insight as to what’s happening in both cases would be appreciated.

@Taxprepper

Make sure you are using the correct link or file object for the desired field.

Please provide screenshots of how your Zap step is configured.
