I have data table named “products” in glide. It has multiple columns and multiple rows. First row has headers as names for each column. Via API i’m able to pull the data from glide’s table to zapier’s ‘glide’ step. Now i just need to convert this into a table format exactly how it was in glide tables i.e. either as a csv, xlsx or google spread sheet. Then this file needs to mailed to a specific gmail account every sunday.
I’ve set up the schedule triggered step. Then i have the glide step with the API connection in place which is able to get the data from the table. i’ve tested uptil this point and data is being captured. But thats it.
I’m stuck here.
How do i convert this data that is present in the glide step, back to a table format with the headers intact and in the same order as it is in the original glide tables? AI says use formatter but i can’t seem to understand how?
Also will there be any limits to how many rows of data it can process while making the csv/xlsx/google sheet ?
Please help!
Hey
I think you probably have to Code by Zapier action or use Google Sheets as an intermediary. See more about Code by Zapier here- https://zapier.com/blog/code-by-zapier-guide/. Hope it helps!
Hi
Let us know if you were able to get it working, or if you're still running into any trouble - want to make sure this gets sorted! 🙂
Hello @Ruak,
I am happy to help if you’d like. I would just need to know how the data is coming into the zap.
The free version of Glide doesn’t allow Zapier integration, so I couldn’t mock anything up for you.
If you’re getting line items then a loop with a formatter to add the newline character at the end of a row may solve the issue of it all being on one line.

Hey
You can use some of the inbuilt Formatting from Formatter → Utilities action but if it’s insufficient for you, you may have to use Code by Zapier. Alternatively, you can AI by Zapier Analyse and return action if it can give you the desired output.

As you said you are trying to use API to fetch data that’s why more advanced formatting is required. Hope it helps!
