Hi @Cedip

Zap app integrations can be searched here: https://zapier.com/apps/

Each app integration has a profile page that lists the available triggers/actions and help links to reference.

Review the available apps from Facebook: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/facebook

Also look into an app like Buffer: https://zapier.com/apps/buffer/integrations

TIP: Try using the AI Copilot to help you configure your Zap steps.

Yes, you can do that with automation.

The simple setup is:

Instagram post trigger → post to Facebook → post to X

So when a new Instagram post is published, the workflow sends the same content to the other 2 platforms.

Just keep in mind:

  • Facebook is usually the easiest one with Instagram

  • X may need its own formatting, because captions and media do not always copy over perfectly

So yes, it is possible. You just need one trigger and 2 posting steps.

HI @Cedip

Important: Direct X/Twitter Integration No Longer Exists

  • As of August 31, 2023, Zapier's direct Twitter/X integration was permanently removed

  • Reason: X's API policy and pricing changes

  • You cannot use a direct X action in any new Zap

  • Existing X Zaps stopped working after this date

Source: Zapier Official Announcement

The Current Working Solution

You need a social media management tool as an intermediary since direct X posting is no longer available.

Recommended workflow:

  • Trigger: Instagram for Business → "New Media Posted"

  • Action 1: Buffer (or Hootsuite) → "Create Post" (sends to X)

  • Action 2: Buffer → "Create Post" (sends to Facebook) or use separate Facebook Pages action

Why this works:

  • Buffer maintains an active X API connection that Zapier can leverage

  • Buffer handles formatting differences between platforms

  • One Buffer action can post to multiple connected social accounts simultaneously

Prerequisites

Instagram requirements:

  • Instagram Business or Creator account (personal accounts will not work)

  • Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page

Buffer/Hootsuite requirements:

  • Active Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar social media management account

  • Your X and Facebook profiles must be connected within that tool

Key Limitations to Know

X character limit:

  • X has a 280-character limit (higher for Premium users)

  • Instagram captions often exceed this

  • Solution: Use Zapier's Formatter → Truncate before sending to Buffer

Instagram Reels:

  • Supported via Instagram "Publish Video" action

  • Reels post correctly through Buffer to X and Facebook

Carousel posts (multiple images):

  • Only the first image transfers to X

  • Full carousel works on Facebook and Instagram

User tagging:

  • Maximum 9 user tags per Instagram post

  • Tags may not transfer to X

Buffer plan limitations:

  • Free Buffer plan allows up to 10 scheduled posts per social account

  • Paid plans required for higher volume

Quick Setup Steps

Step 1: Connect accounts

  • Connect Instagram for Business to Zapier

  • Connect Buffer (or Hootsuite) to Zapier

  • Inside Buffer, connect your X and Facebook profiles

Step 2: Build the Zap

  • Trigger: Instagram for Business → "New Media Posted"

  • (Optional) Formatter: Text → "Truncate" to shorten captions for X

  • Action: Buffer → "Create Post"

  • Map the Instagram caption and media URL to Buffer fields

  • Select both X and Facebook as destinations in Buffer

Step 3: Test and activate

  • Create a test Instagram post

  • Verify post appears on both X and Facebook

  • Adjust formatting as needed
