I want to create the following zap:

Invite members to Mighty Networks, once a payment is made via plug&pay.

Now the trigger part works fine. However, I keep getting an error in the action part. I must fill in the ‘email addresses’ field. However, I want Zapier to retrieve the email address that is filled in at Plug&Pay.

I already made a payment via plug&pay to test, but I do not see the relevant email address. It keeps giving me ‘johndoe@mail.com’ as an email address, and then I keep getting the error that the email address does not exist.

How do I fix this issue?

Hi @Anoukmeijer8

You may be getting an error testing due to the dummy data returned from Zap step 1.

So, map the variable that represents the email address from Step 1 to Step 2 for the field.

Then try this...

Turn your Zap ON.

Test live.

Check your Zap Runs history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Hi @Anoukmeijer8

Welcome to the Community.

Please send us a screenshot of the error message and ensure any sensitive information is blurred so we can troubleshoot it further. Also, we agreed on Troy’s recommendation to test the Zap live to confirm if the error message persists.

In the screenshot below, you can see what I filled in in the ‘email addresses’ field.

Then I get the following error:

If I decide to manually fill in the email address that made the payment via Plug&Pay, it says it works. However, I don't want to manually fill in the e-mail addresses. Moreover, it then says an invitation is sent to the email address, but that is not the case.

@troy Tessalone, I am not completely sure what you want me to do.

Thanks in advance!

Those are the suggestions Zapier gives me to fill the ‘email addresses’ field:

Hi @Anoukmeijer8,

You seem to be experiencing issues with automating email invitations after payments via Plug&Pay. To troubleshoot, first, ensure that Plug&Pay settings are configured to capture users' email addresses and check that your Zapier integration is correctly set up to trigger new payments. Verify that the email field is appropriately mapped in your automation tool. Test the process with a test payment to see if invitations are sent automatically, and check the logs for errors. If the problem continues, reach out to Plug&Pay support for assistance.

I am sure that Plug&Pay collects e-mail addresses.

However, at Zapier, I only have the option to choose between the following triggers:

I now used ‘invoice created’, since an invoice is created after someone has paid.

Might this be the issue, since I did not set the trigger to ‘payment made’. How can I change this?

Hi @Anoukmeijer8

You are on the right. Use the Invoice Created as your trigger and test your Zap so we can determine whether everything is working well. Let us know if that helps you fix your issue.
