Question

PandaDocs - Custom Fields in API response, but not fields?

Hi friends, I am trying to use PandaDoc and pull in the values for custom fields I used in the document. If I go into Zap History and see the API response, I get the following (with all the custom fields), but when I go to create a zap, only the standard fields are showing and not any of the custom fields. The custom fields are anything that say “enter value” for the “placeholder” below. Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi @KB199

Try changing the trigger sample being used to configure the Zap: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/change-the-test-data-in-your-zap-trigger

Thanks Troy, pulled in a sample just before doing this. The sample it shows me inside the zap shows me this below (no custom fields). Could it be at all because the custom fields don’t have names? Does the Zapier UI ignore them if so?

@KB199

Have you reviewed the available Help articles? https://zapier.com/apps/pandadoc/help

If PandaDoc serves as a “Trigger” application and you do not select a PandaDoc template, you’ll be able to use general PandaDoc document data only in an “Action” application.
However, if you select a template, you will get all the data available in the template: tokens, fields, pricing tables, metadata.

Dang, that sucks if true - I’m working out of forms and not templates. Will see what else I can find, thank you!

Troy, do you know if there’s a way for me to save the whole response object as it shows in the zap history and then I could use code steps to get the variables from there? Thanks for your help!
