I’ve been trying for like 2 hours to set up the new IG zap to LinkedIn. I’m continually getting the same useless error message:
Any help would be great. My FB business account is connected, I’ve redone that 5 times, IG is connect to that account, I’ve triple checked that too, so I dont think that’s that issue. I’ve been using this zap for literally years and but I got an email from Zapier stating:
We're reaching out with an important update regarding your Instagram Zaps. Meta has announced that the Instagram Basic Display API powering Zapier's Instagram integration will be deprecated today, December 4, 2024. As a result, any Zaps using the Instagram app will stop functioning on this date.
To maintain functionality, please migrate your Zaps to the Instagram for Business integration, which offers the same key features and more.
I’m stuck in the exact same situation. Any luck or updates on a solution? Thanks!
@Troy Tessalone I’m having the same issue even with my instagram page being a business one.
Any other tips?
Hi friends,
Meta has announced that the Instagram Basic Display API powering Zapier’s Instagram integration will be deprecated today, December 4, 2024. As a result, any Zaps using the Instagram app will stop functioning on this date.
To maintain functionality, please migrate your Zaps to the Instagram for Business integration, which offers the same key features and more.
If you aren't seeing your account in the list, we are seeing this issue come up for a few users but are able to fix it by doing the following. One customer found that they needed to give Zapier (on Facebook) permission to grant 'Access profile and posts from the Instagram account connected to your Page':
Click on Linked Accounts in the permissions section:
Click on View if Instagram isn't connected. If it is connected, disconnect it and then click view:
Reconnect the Instagram account:
After making this change, you'll need to make a new connection to Instagram to see the pages in the Zap editor.
Can you try to reconnect the account after checking the above permission? To refresh your app connection, follow these steps:
Head to the Zap
Select the dropdown holding the list of accounts
Click on Change then "Connect a new account" and follow the prompts
Return to your Zap
Let me know once you have had a chance to get to the above, I'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Hi Ken,
Thank you for the steps you provided (very helpful).
I followed your steps but couldn’t resolve the issue from my end. However, I came to a few points that may be causing the issue:
When connecting instagram to zapier, Facebook is getting me to login to as me (personal account) which has my facebook/instagram business page linked. I’m I meant to be loggin with the business credentials or personal? OR
My personal account has all the access needed from zapier but the business account does not. Would this be because of the above (1.) reason or its meant to be like that?
note: the attached image that has all the access in my account and the other images are my business account images.
Let me know if the above is the issue or if there is something else i need to do to fix the issue.
Cheers!
Hi @Nathan Bebawi,
Thanks for the update here.
It’s completely normal that Zapier will use your personal account. However, I have a workaround in mind, could you please try to input the Instagram account ID as a custom value on the “Instagram Accounts to Use” field? You should be able to find the Instagram account ID in Facebook:
Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!
@ken.a — Just wanted to pop in here and let you know I came across the same issue that the OP had. I followed the instructions in your most recent post re: adding the Instagram ID manually, and that did work. Which is a relief. However, I do still wish the typical way of connecting accounts functioned as it used to. Thanks!
@ken.a
Hi Ken, adding the account manually worked! Thank you for all your help!
@KPMT Not sure why it so difficult to connect. Usually with an update/upgrade things should be easier!
Hope this doesnt put any other people off from using Zapier- definitely need to fix the issue @Zap Admin

1000% agree!
Hi friends,
I completely agree. While looking into this, I found that the accounts not loading in the “Instagram Account to Use” field is a bug. I have added you all as affected users to the bug report. While I can't provide an ETA for when this issue might be resolved, we will reach out to you via email once it is.
I appreciate your patience and understanding.
Same here
Hi @SuaTV,
I’ve added you to the list of affected users, and we’ll notify you via email once an update is readily available. Thanks.
I’m experiencing a similar problem, even though my Instagram page is set up as a business account.
Do you have any additional suggestions that might help resolve this?
Hi @jhon_739,
I have a suggestion for a workaround that may help: You can use the Instagram account ID as a custom value. You should be able to see the ID on Facebook. Like so:
