Is it possible to monitor two separate boards on Monday.com and trigger an action based on criteria from both?

For example:

  • On Board #1, if a column contains the word "Tier", and
  • On Board #2, if a specific column matches a value from Board #1, and
  • When the status on Board #2 is marked as "Completed",

Then, a Zendesk ticket should be automatically created.

Can this be achieved in Zapier?

Are the Monday Board linked via a Connect column type?

Try these Zap steps:

  1. Trigger: Monday - Specific Column Value Changed in Board
  2. Action: Monday - Get Item by Column Value
    1. Search for the desired value form Step 1
  3. Action: Filter
    1. Conditions to check if Step 2 found a match or not
    2. Help: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help
  4. Action: Zendesk - Create Ticket

@Troy Tessalone ​@JammerS Thanks for the insight here. I’m still having a little trouble completing this. The two Monday.com boards are not linked by connect columns. Is this still possible if they are not?

 

This might clarify what I’m trying to accomplish:

  1. When the status on Board #1 is marked as "Completed",
  2. It will check a separate “Column A” in Board #1 AND check “Column B” in Board #2.
  3. If the two values in “Column A” and “Column B” on the two separate boards match, AND a separate column, “Column C” on Board #2 contains the word “Tier”.
  4. Then it would create a Zendesk ticket. 

Does that make sense?
