I’d like to connect Mixpanel to Google Ads via Zapier. However, I can’t set up Mixpanel as a trigger app. Mixpanel is inactive, and I receive the message “No trigger available.”

I have successfully set up Mixpanel in my app, and the connection is confirmed.

Why can’t I use Mixpanel as a trigger app?

Hi there @Angela Cho,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Unfortunately, the Mixpanel integration doesn’t have any triggers at the moment and only supports actions:

Could you please inform me about the trigger event you're attempting to use? This will help me to check our feature request for the app and add you to it if it’s available.

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

Hi @Angela Cho, welcome to the Community! 🎉

Ah, yes as Ken mentioned the reason that you’re not able to select any triggers for the Mixpanel app is that there are no triggers available for it. There’s only these two actions available currently:

Are you looking to trigger when a new event or a new user is added in Mixpanel by any chance? Let me know if so and I’ll get you added to the existing feature requests we have open for those triggers. Otherwise I’d suggest contacting out Support team to submit a new feature request for the relevant trigger to be added. You can do that here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

As a workaround for the lack of triggers at present, you could potentially set a webhook in Mixpanel that could trigger a Zap when something happens in Mixpanel. Mixpanel have a guide on how to set up webhooks here: https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/cohort-sync/webhooks and I’d recommend checking out our Trigger Zaps from webhooks guide to see how to set up the webhook trigger in the Zap.

It’s a bit more advanced so let me know if you run into any issues on setting that up - happy to assist further on this! 🙂
