Message only makes it to Gmail

I'm building a Glide app. I just created a second message button that writes to the same column as the first. Whenever new data gets entered into that column, Zapier sends an email to my business' Gmail account. Then it's sent from there to the recipient's email address. The messages sent from the original button are making it all the way through to the recipient's email address, but the messages from the second button are only making it as far as the Gmail account. Does anyone know what I should do about this? They're both exactly the same!

Hi @rubelsisneros

Check your Zap Runs history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for the triggered Zap steps: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Check to make sure your Zap steps have data points mapped as expected.

If the data points aren’t being sent to the Zap trigger, that would mean you’d need to troubleshoot the issue more in Glide.

Thanks for your response, Troy. I'm not the most technical person but I do know that my trigger is just new data being entered into a certain column. When that happens, an email is sent from my Gmail account to the recipient's. Shouldn't any new data populating that column trigger all the same actions? I just don't see the logic in tinkering with something that's working fine when it comes to my other button. Both buttons populate that column, but the full action only works for one. Do you think, maybe I should just start all over with all my Zapier triggers? Maybe it's just not working correctly, because I added a new button? 🤷

But that button is working when I send myself a message. I need to try sending messages using that button, from other profiles...

@rubelsisneros

Best advice would be to test each button and check the Zap Runs history details for the DATA OUT from the trigger step to determine if the desired data points are being sent from each Glide button.

Best practice is to use unique data points so that you can troubleshoot and trace.

I don't have a zap history. And I can't find anything that says "data out". I even searched it. It says that my zaps haven't run, but something's been happening.

@rubelsisneros

Make sure you’ve removed all filters on the Zap History page.

If there is no Zap Runs then it would mean the Zap isn’t being triggered, so perhaps there is some other automation running outside of Zapier.

You may want to open a ticket with Zapier Support so they can help you further troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/get-help
