  • Marking all emails that I am BCCed on as read except for emails in which I am in the To line or CCed

I am BCCed on pretty much every email that is sent from my company mostly as a means for me to look into the history of a deal if something goes amiss.  Thus I really am not interested in the majority of emails that I am BCCed on and would like to have them automatically marked as Read so that I can focus on the emails which were either sent directly to me or those which I am CCed on.  I was able to somewhat successfully do this with Gmail filters but the problem comes from emails in which I am both in the To line and BCCed or CCed and BCCed.

 

Please let me know if any of this is unclear and I can try to go into more detail.

You would likely have to explore using the Gmail API to mark an email as read.

Gmail API: https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/reference/rest/v1/users.messages/modify

Gmail Zap app action options:

  • API Request
  • Custom Action (with the help of AI)
