Lack of FTP abilities with Zapier?

Love the product and what we can do with it, but I am confused why there is next to no FTP abilities that I would consider basic. Grabbing a file from an FTP/SFTP on a schedule, or drop a file into a FTP/SFTP.
 

There must be some reasons why this functionality is not available, in general? 
 

Note: EasyFTP and BrickFTP are not valid options. I need to use my third-party FTP and other companies third-party FTPs.

Good question.

Can you explain why those 2 apps are not valid options for using FTP?

 

What about using a cloud storage app such as GDrive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive?

Third Party FTP access is required from FTP’s we do not control.

Files.com (formerly BrickFTP) works with FTP/SFTP.
