Hello there,

I use Trello in combination with Jotform and Zapier. I have different cards on my Trello board and now I get a new submission form on Jotform.

These informations need to be added to a specific card on the trello board. To find this card, it needs to match two criteria on my board. One is in the headline, the other one is a custom field. The problem is, I can only search for specific information like in the title, not for the custom field.

Second problem: When I update the card, the former text is being deleted.

Hi @Markus_MR2,

Welcome to the Community.

For Trello in Zapier, you can't search by custom fields, but you can work around this by including custom field information in the card's title or description. Zapier will replace the text by default when updating a card's description, but you can append new information by using the "Append" function in the 'Update Card' action. Enter the existing description followed by the latest information using a custom formula.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for your kind answer. One question, how do I do this with this custom code? Could you give me an example on this? As well, wehre is the append function. Dont find it :(

In Zapier, appending new information to a Trello card's description involves including the current description and adding new text. In the 'Update Card' action, select the 'Description' field, insert the 'Current Description' from the trigger step, and add the new text afterward. For example: {{12345__current_description}} New information to append. Custom code isn't typically needed unless complex operations or formatting are required.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask.
