Hi, I have a lot of list that i need to update example : Category from Phone to Car vice versa. But i want to edit or update it using google sheet and automatically also updated in Notion as Notion is our main CRM.

I tried to use ‘’Update Database Item in Notion” but it doesn’t work.

Example of Notion database i use and Zapier setting i currently use. For “item” field i dont know to to fill with.

Appreciate if someone can look into it and help me make this works thank you!

my google sheet

Hi @gsnejanajens

Good question.

If you want to make the Item field dynamic, then you would need to map a variable from a previous step.

You may need to add a Zap step: Notion - Find Item

The Category field is a dropdown list of options.

Help article for how to map variables: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496241696141-Add-custom-values-to-dropdown-menu-fields-in-Zaps#01H7FR09FBEAKK4ZZP678QDE9T

Hi @Troy Tessalone

Thanks for the reply.

I did set the config, then i try testing to change some of value to see if its work, in this case i change Messi foot from Left-Foot to Right-Foot and Age from 36 to 41 in google sheet. But it didn't change.

Can you correct me what i did wrong? All config are below for your reference

Hi there @gsnejanajens,

Looking at the screenshots, your Zap setup looks good. Could you check if there have been any Zap runs in the Zap History since you triggered it? Also, if it did run, were there any errors?

Please keep us posted!

@gsnejanajens

Zap Runs: https://zapier.com/app/history/

GSheets Zap triggers are not instant: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/21612033911437-Google-Sheets-triggers-aren-t-instant

Hi, @Troy Tessalone  @ken.a

Thanks for the reply.

Understand that its not instant and only running 1 zap at the time which is this one i showed you guys, i leave it since yesterday and i check today didn't make any change. this is my zap history.

@gsnejanajens

You may want to change a setting in Step 2 to continue if no match is found, then add a Filter step to only continue if an item was found.

Hi, @Troy Tessalone

Like this?

@gsnejanajens

Yes, now you need to add a Filter between the Notion steps: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

I dont know if i should put ID or Title Page.

@gsnejanajens

You can use either, because if no match is found in Step 2, then neither will be returned.

When in doubt, test it out.

Hi, @Troy Tessalone thanks.

So i succesfully edited item and updated item with this setting. However, its only works in Ronaldo, i want to the page is update dynamicly based on what i change in the google sheet so it could be Messi or someone else in the list.

Then after i changed to custom dynamic setting with same database id like below, it doesn’t work.

shiows like this, eventho as you can see in the SS it shows the ID.

@gsnejanajens

This ID needs to be selected as the ‘Custom’ Item value.
