I want that, whenever an order is created manually (for which I have a good filter to detect that), the order status is automatically changed in BigCommerce. Anyone know how to do that?

You can automate changing the order status for manually created orders in BigCommerce using Zapier. Set up a Zap with BigCommerce's 'New Order' trigger, then add an 'Update Order Status' action using the Order ID from the trigger. Ensure you have the correct status ID from BigCommerce to update the order accordingly.

Ensure your BigCommerce integration is up to date, as action names may change. If unavailable, consider using the "Update Order" action instead. I still don’t see any options for updating an order status...can you share with me the EXACT way that I’d go about creating that type of Zap? Like, what should the first step be that’ll allow me to see the “update order status” as an option?

I just came across this and spotted a feature request for a “Update Order” action was recently opened for the BigCommerce app, so I’ve gone ahead and added your vote to that. We can’t provide an estimate on when it might become available to use, but we’ll be sure to notify you by email when it is.

In the meantime, I see our Support team suggested using an API Request action to update the order—did you have any luck with that approach? I’d love to know if that’s a viable workaround for others to use while we wait for an “Update Order” action to be added.
