I currently use Zapier to extract files from email and then save them on drive. I’m now wondering if it is possible to automatically rename the file to a set format before saving them on drive. Can someone please help me understand if this is an option.

 

I noticed “formatter” being referred to in some posts. However, I’m unsure how this can be useful in my situation. Any guidance is appreciated.

When you use the Zap action step GDrive Upload File there are options to set the File Name and File Extension.

 

@Troy Tessalone just to clarify, does the step you mentioned have to be done for every instance? If yes, is there a way I can have the file renamed to something static? I’m trying to avoid the hassle of renaming the file everytime.

You can use static values, dynamic variables or a combo of both to set the File Name.
