Looking for a way to post a tweet to Twitter everytime I play a spotify song. I currently have this configured in IFTTT, but would like to use Zapier for all automations going forward. Didn’t see a trigger for Spotify in Zapier, so wondering if anyone had come across an approach for this.

Thank you! That doesn’t have anything where a new track is being played trigger (like IFTTT) so looking for a way to not use IFTTT anymore and move over to Zapier.

Thank you! I will definitely have a look into that. Not sure if I’ll be able to setup an oauth with webhook but will deifnitely give it a go.

I’ve just spotted that we’ve got an existing feature request to trigger a Zap when a new track is played so I’ve added your vote for that. I can’t make any promises as to when that would be implemented but we’ll be sure to send you a notification by email as soon as that trigger is available. :)

AWESOME!! This would be awesome, it’s the last automation I have over at IFTTT that I couldn’t move to Zapier. Thinking in the meantime of using google app scripts to connect to spotify and log a sheet with all songs I play, and then post that to twitter from Zapier. But that would be so much better.

Just popping by with a quick update to share that the feature request has now been implemented. In case you missed the email notification that was sent, here’s the important information from it:
“Great news! An updated Spotify version has been released with that functionality. Note that this polling trigger triggers when any track finishes playing. You'll need to use a Filter step to only trigger when particular song/s plays. In order to get access to this new functionality, you’ll need to update your Spotify Zap steps, or create new Zaps. If updating a step, you can now do that in-line using the Update button located in the App & event sub-page of your Spotify step in the Zap Editor. See more details here.”
