On 27 Apr 2023, 12:48 UTC I sent an email to Zapier support with ticket number W8WYE8-WQQMZ. I did not get a reply.

Right now this is urgent and I need an answer asap from Zapier support, so I'll post it here.


Because we've almost hit the maximum number of tasks inside my plan, I want to buy additional tasks just once.


I'm on the Pro plan with 2,000 tasks right now. I only need 500 tasks once. This is not an option, as we can read inside this topic: https://community.zapier.com/how-do-i-3/can-i-buy-additional-tasks-without-changing-my-plan-15653

The problem right now is that I can only upgrade to the Pro plan with 5,000 tasks.

This is way to much, and in my opinion it is overpriced.

Because I will only be using 2,500 tasks, or 50% of the tasks each month.

  • 5,000 tasks for 89 USD per month, if you pay annualy.
  • 5,000 tasks for 133,50 USD per month, if you pay monthly.

Now this is not the real problem. Inside the attached screenshot you can see the real problem.

 

Because I bought a Pro plan in January, there's unused time which is worth 397,22 USD.

The amount charged today will be 0 USD.

At the bottom you can see that if I "upgrade" today to Pro 5,000 tasks, on May 30, 2023 I'm paying 133,50.

397,22-133,50 = 263,72 USD

What will happen with the 263,72 USD that's left?

The best solution for me would be to just upgrade once to 5,000 tasks, paying monthly. And after this month switching back to the Pro plan with 2,000 tasks per month. The coming months should be payed with the 263,72 USD that is left.

Do you know if that's possible?

But I’m still confused. On the payment page you can see the following: “The next charge will be $133,50 USD, minus applicable discounts, on May 30, 2023.

So I’ll pay 0 USD today, and on May 30, 2023, the charge will be 133,50 USD? What will happen with the 263,72 USD (unused time) that's left from the yearly Pro plan with 2,000 tasks that I did pay in January this year?

 


In your example, the remaining 263.72 USD will persist on your Zapier account as a credit, and be applied to future payments. If you clicked “upgrade” in that screenshot, the next few months would be like:

  • on May 30th, your Pro (5,000 monthly) subscription would renew, and the credit would reduce the payment to $0, leaving 130.22 credit on your account.
  • on June 30th, your Pro (5,000 monthly) subscription would renew, and the credit would reduce the payment to $3.28.
  • on July 30th, your Pro (5,000 monthly) subscription would renew at the full price of $133.50 USD.
