Hi there

I have a Monday.com board that is being populated by Jotform entries. When a new item is made in Monday, with an email address that matches an item already in the Monday board, I would like the duplicate item to become a subitem of that existing item.

I have tried doing this in Zapier, but get the loop warning which is throwing me off - how would I go about setting this up?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi @ellieroberts,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of the “CONFIGURE” section of the action step/s that shows all of its fields.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!

Thanks @ken.a - I haven’t really got anything set up yet, I started playing around but got a bit stuck. Any insight as to how I might be able to do this?

Hi @ellieroberts,

No worries, here’s a rough setup of the workflow you’re looking for:

  1. Trigger: Jotform - New Submission
  2. Action: monday.com - Get Item by Column Value
  3. Action: monday.com - Create Subitem

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

Thanks @ken.a! I have set that up now - I needed to do what you suggested, plus a fourth action step to update multiple columns of a subitem as Action: monday.com - Create Subitem only allows you to map the item name.

You are most welcome @ellieroberts! Also, thank you for looping back with an update here.

Please let me know if the setup did not work. I’d be happy to help further! 🤗
