Hi, i am looking to track expenses for my Japan sales team where they would use Expensify to upload receipts (in Japanese Language) via the expensify app.

I am looking to use zapier to create a zap to help with this, using chatgpt i got the following instructions.

Connect Expensify to Zapier:

  • In Zapier, click Create a Zap.
  • Choose Expensify as the trigger app.
  • Select New Expense as the trigger event.
  • Connect your Expensify account.

However, in my zapier dashboard i am only able to select “New Report” as a trigger event. Is there any alternative to this? Have attached screenshot below. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi @dlzhdan,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Unfortunately, the “New Expense” trigger is not available in the current integration of Expensify in Zapier. I’d recommend reaching out to our Support Team to create a feature request on your behalf.

You can reach our Support Team here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hey there, @dlzhdan 👋

Just came across this and wanted to suggest using Email Parser for your Zap’s trigger in the meantime. Since it looks like it’s possible for expenses to require approval which would send an email notification when a new expense is submitted that contains the details of the expense:

So you could have a Zap that triggers on those email notifications and carries out the necessary actions for them. If you’ve not use Email Parser before I’d recommend checking out our Trigger Zaps from new parsed emails guide to learn more.

Hope that helps. If you run into any issues on that or have any further questions at all just let us know! 🙂
