Inserting current date by formula

I am wondering if there is a way to insert the current date into a field by formula. Right now I am using a date field from a previous step, however that has to be formatted correctly, which requires an additional formatting step. Is there a way to say in the field that I want the current date inserted on MMDDYYYY format?

Have you checked out Formatter by Zapier? https://zapier.com/apps/formatter/integrations#triggers-and-actions - We have a Trigger that is specifically for formatting dates and times. Here’s a video that demonstrates the feature as well: https://zapier.com/help/doc/how-get-started-formatter-zapier#date-time.

    Thanks! This does demonstrate how to add a date by using the time when the zap runs. For others, the code is {{zap_meta_human_now}} in the input field instead of locating a date from a previous step.
