Hi all,

I’m looking to link our Outlook account to Monday.com. We have details of sales leads sent to our inbox, and we want to import the name, email, and phone number in these emails into a new item in Monday.com.

How do we create a Zap that will select those specific pieces of information in the emails, and filter out only the emails with the lead info, instead of all emails that enter our inbox?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @jamesaustin201

Sounds like you need to do email parsing.

Check out these apps...

Mailparser: https://zapier.com/apps/mailparser/integrations

Parser by Zapier: https://zapier.com/apps/email-parser/integrations

Code: https://zapier.com/apps/code/help (can custom code an email parser depending on the email templates)

Monday available triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/monday/integrations

DM me if you need help getting this configured.

Just wanted to pop in here as spotted that @jamesaustin201 also reached out to our support team who also suggested using a parsing tool like Email Parser by Zapier for this. Sharing the following details from their response here in case it’s helpful to others looking to build a similar workflow:

“how it works, is you will be given an inbox and any email sent to that inbox will piece out the information from each lead and then sent to your Zap. You create a template to teach the inbox which pieces of information you want.

So your Zap would look something like this...

  1. Email Parser by Zapier: New Email
  2. monday.com: Create Item

Click here to create this Zap.

You would use Outlooks auto-forward rules to automatically forward those lead emails to your parser inbox: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-rules-to-automatically-forward-messages-45aa9664-4911-4f96-9663-ece42816d746
