I was wondering if there was the ability to update an Asana task when something happens in Dialpad?

So I have a ZAP when a call comes into our office it creates an Asana task.

I was wondering if once the call ends the link to the recording or the transcription could be added to the Asana task description? Or say if the call goes to voicemail then it adds the voicemail link to the Asana task description? maybe add the word “Voicemail” to the Asana task title?

Not sure if this is possible or not or if it would have to be another whole zap that would find that task with the same Call ID and edit that task? (with with some parameters to avoid if a person called two weeks ago and then also called “today” I wouldn't want zapper to update the task from two weeks ago only the one from “today”.) Very specific just curious if anyone knew if this sort of thing is possible.

Thanks

Hi @Nolan

Different trigger events from Dialpad may require different Zaps or Paths within 1 Zap.

Try using an internal Dialpad ID in a custom field in the Asana Task to use to lookup the Asana Task to update.

Zap action: Asana - Find Task in Workspace

Description: Finds a task in a workspace, Supports custom fields. Available only to premium Asana users.

There are other options to try:

  • Asana - Find Task in Project
    • Search by Task Name
  • Asana - Find Task by ID
