Hi. I’m a very new user of Zapier and need to develop a Zap to transport GoCanvas .csv submission files eventually to my local network for processing. I can connect to gocanvas with no problems but from there I’m kind of stuck on how to attach and process the files.  Thanks for any assistance given.

Hi there @IceCreamMan,

Welcome to the Community! 🎉

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of the action step in the “CONFIGURE” section that shows all of its fields.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!

Hi Ken.a:

Attached are screen shots of my the gocanvas connection and configuration. The App name is pulled from a list of 193 apps we currently use in our plant.  The Test worked correctly. Where should I go from here to get at the files?

Thanks

Hi @IceCreamMan,

To get files from GoCanvas, add a new action step in your Zap for file handling, such as using Google Drive or Dropbox to download or Gmail to send the files. Configure the action with the file URL from GoCanvas and test each step to ensure it works correctly. Once tested, turn on the Zap to run automatically.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks JammerS for the reply.

I have been able to get the zap to download a file to my google drive.  What I’m still having trouble with is where to pick up the URL for the submission that triggered the gocanvas zap and how to install it in the configuration of the google drive action.  When I go into gocanvas to do a manual export of the .csv I get a URL like https://www.gocanvas.com/forms/12345678/submissions?folder_id=345678. Can you tell where I’m going wrong?

Thanks

Hi @IceCreamMan,

To get the specific URL for each GoCanvas submission in your Zap, use a you're like "New Submission" that provides the URL or ID for each entry. In the Google Drive action, use this data (for example, "Submission URL" or "Submission" ID") to specify the file to download. If the GoCanvas integration doesn't provide information, consider exploring an alternative method to get the file into Google Drive.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Hi JammerS:

I’m doing this testing on a free account to verify that I can accomplished what I need to do before I implement Zapier across about 20+ daily gocanvas applications that we are currently running. Our aim is to get the file(s) to our FTP and it looks like some combination of EasyCSV and EasyFTP will do what we need.  Someone must have come up against the same requirement and I would be grateful to see who exactly the gocanvas trigger and any relevant action are configured.

Thanks for you assistance.

Hi @IceCreamMan,

In order to automate GoCanvas submissions with EasyCSV and EasyFTP in Zapier, set up a Zap with a GoCanvas trigger for new submissions. Add an EasyCSV action to create a CSV file, mapping the relevant data. Then, use an EasyFTP action to upload the CSV to your FTP server. Test each step to ensure smooth execution.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
