Hi,

I am trying to set up Zap with Google Chat but the process seems too complex could anyone please guide me on how to do it.?

Thanks

Hi @sebastianmoore,

Just to ensure that I understand what you're trying to accomplish, could you elaborate a little? What is your end goal with this Zap? Would you be able to outline it step-by-step?

If you can phrase it in the “When A happens in Service X, B should happen in Service Y” format, that’ll help me make sure I give you the best suggestion possible, so thank you in advance!

I want to ensure we're on the same page so I can point you in the right direction!

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply!

My goal is to set up a Zap that allows me to receive notifications in Google Chat whenever a specific event occurs in another service (e.g., when a new row is added to a Google Sheet or when a new ticket is created in a project management tool).

To put it in the format you suggested: “When a new row is added in Google Sheets, a message should be sent in Google Chat.”

I appreciate your guidance on how to set this up step-by-step!

Thanks again for your help!

Best Regards

Hi @sebastianmoore,

Welcome to the Community. Let me guide you to quickly setup your Zap.

In order to connect Google Sheets with Google Chat via Zapier. First is to set Google Sheets as the trigger for new rows. Then, set Google Chat as the action to send messages to a specific space. You can also customize the message with the data from the new row and ensure you have permissions for both accounts. Lastly, activate your Zap to run whenever a new row is added.

Let us know if this helps you jump-start your Zap.

Thanks for the solution. I'll try this, and if I face any issues, I'll get back to you for sure.

Best Regards

Hi,

Everything is going pretty good but now I got stuck in the middle of something, I am using some generative ai models (maintain complete data in spreadsheet) to make the things even more easier but not able to do that as I am facing complexity for the same. As per this article Generative AI Models, I have created some models to automate getting import notification on my device.

Can you please guide me with that.

Thanks

Hi @sebastianmoore,

If you're facing difficulties with generative AI models, ensure your data is clean and relevant. Simplify complex models initially and troubleshoot by isolating where issues occur. Identify whether problems are in data preprocessing, model training, or notification generation. With these steps, you'll find it easier to pinpoint solutions. I hope this helps clear up your concern.
