I have a group set up in Mailchimp to show whether a customer has purchased one or more of the three courses we’re offering. Let’s say the course options are Enhancement>course 1, Enhancement>course 2, and Enhancement>course 3 to make it easy.

I’d like my Zap to remove one of the options when a customer stops paying for it, but still leave the other options. In my case, it’s a Mighty Networks trigger (I think it’s named “Member Left>Course”), so when a member who is paying for courses 1, 2, and 3, leaves course 1, the Zap tells Mailchimp to remove course 3 but course 1 and 2 are not affected.

I cannot see how to do this. I can see how to add to a group without affecting the other characteristics, but I can’t see how to clear an element without affecting the others in the same group.

Also, I’m on a free account, so Paths are not an option (in case that’s a way to do it).

Hi @luckylou

You’d be better served using Mailchimp Tags instead of Groups.

NOTE from Mailchimp: If you don't need to let your contacts categorize themselves, and you're looking for a way to organize contacts internally, consider using tags instead.

Yes, thank you. Is there an answer for my question, assuming we do need to have the info in a multi-selectable group, and I may have been positing a hypothetical situation for simplicity’s sake?

Hi @luckylou

You’d likely have to go with a more advanced approach and use the Mailchimp API: https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/api/list-members/update-list-member/

App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/integrations

Perhaps consider hiring a Zapier Expert if you need help: https://experts.zapier.com/
