How to link Salesforce Opportunity Owner ID to Slack user for notifications?

Hey all!

 

I’m trying to get a Slack notification sent to a Salesforce Opportunity Owner reminding them to update other related fields when they update the close date of their opportunity. Zapier is only returning the Owner ID, an 18-digit code we use as an identifier in Salesforce, but I am unable to link this to the Slack user!

 

Any tips?

Hi @egardner 

Good question.

You may need to add a Zap step to find the Salesforce Contact by ID to get the Email to then search Slack to get the Slack User ID.
