How do I get the most recent podcast episode from Spotify? Get Show Episodes returns five, and I only need one. I can’t figure out how to set the limit field.

Hi @Ether

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible, along with the DATA OUT that is returned from Spotify that you are trying to use so we can see the format of that data point.

Hi @Ether,

Are you referring to when you test the trigger? We will return the 3 most recent episodes for samples.

When the Zap runs live, it will only trigger on new episodes.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.

This is what I have so far. It triggers every morning. I want the get show episodes to return the most recent one so I can use the next step to add it to the playlist, but it returns three which I have no way of parsing through.

Post screenshots showing the DATA OUT that is returned from Zap step 3 that you are trying to use.

Hi there, @Ether 👋

Did you find a way to get just the latest episode?

If not, it looks like that Get Show Episodes is specifically intended to pull up to 5:

So you may need to use Formatter (Utilities > Line-item to Text) actions to convert the line items to text. Then, select either the Output Item 1 field or the Output Item Last field (depending on the sort order of the episodes) to get the details for the most recent episode.

Hope that helps. If you found a different way to solve this or run into any issues on that just let us know!

Thanks that’s exactly what I needed!

That’s awesome @Ether! A huge thanks to SamB for pointing you in the right direction!
