Hello everyone,

I just had Grasshopper support on the phone to ask if they have any way of getting an incoming text message to another service. They told me they don’t have an API, and they don’t have an option to get any (email) notification with an incoming text message and no ability to forward a text message.

Does anyone know any workaround to get an incoming text message out of Grasshopper? Or a service that provides the same functionality as Grasshopper, where you can easily migrate to? It’s not for me but for someone else.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi @mzsadiek

You can search the available Zap apps here for Phone & SMS: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/phone

Each app profile page shows the available triggers/actions.

Example with OpenPhone: https://zapier.com/apps/openphone/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Hi @Troy Tessalone , thanks for your comment! I know the available phone/sms options; however, I haven't worked with Grasshopper before, so I’m not sure if they offer specific service that other services don’t have. Do you have any experience with Grasshopper?

Anyone?

Hey @mzsadiek

I’ve not used Grasshopper before but looking at this guide on their website, it seems like you might be able to use a Marketing Automation System or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for this sort of workflow.

So instead of trying to connect to Grasshopper directly, you could try connecting to another app, like Analytic Call Tracking for example, to trigger a Zap whenever there’s a New Incoming SMS. Then you could follow up that trigger event with the Send Outbound Email action in Email by Zapier, to send yourself an email notification whenever an SMS is received. Does that approach sound like it’s the sort of thing you’re after here?

Hi @SamB, thanks for your response! I hadn’t found that guide earlier. I have contacted Analytic Call Tracking to check whether this would be possible with their service. Thank you very much :)
