Question

How to flag processed Outlook emails in a Zapier workflow

Hi there Zappers

I have used a standard zap to read incoming OUTLOOK emails.

I have a filter on there so it ignores lots of spam.

Then the zap pushes the email to Chatbase to basically answer the email.

It then creates the draft reply which sits in the “drafts” folder of outlook. All that works just fine.

What I can’t seem to do is mark or flag the original email as being processed.  It just sits in the inbox. I’d like to know that the zap has processed it.

How can I add a flag or anything to the original email to show it has been processed ?

CHeers!

Hi yes thanks for the reply, I did see that but it is a hell of a steep learning curve. I wonder if anyone could guide me through a worked example as the documentation is vague for me anyway.

I would have thought it was pretty fundamental that you’d want to mark an email as processed so not too sure why the actual method is so buried.

Surely someone knows how to do this- google AI says use the “Flag Email” setting -which of course does not exist.

I would have thought something noddy like - “IF THE EMAIL MENTIONS SALES THEN FLAG IT GREEN” or “IF THE EMAIL MENTIONS MARKETING FLAG IT YELLOW” would have been pretty straightforward.

The two links about are pretty terrifying.  It is quite a simple task.
