How to create Microsoft Outlook draft based on an existing *.oft template in the forms library?

I have saved email templates in the form of *.oft files in Outlook, which I access via the “choose form” menu in outlook and navigate to “user templates in file system”.

Can zapier be used to create a draft from those oft files? As opposed to me entering text/html data within zapier to create the body of the draft email text?

Creating the draft in zapier does not allow me to easily edit the text with formatting when I need to because I’m not familiar/fast with html markups.

Edited to add: I just realized, I can create the email draft in Outlook then “view source” and simply cut/paste the html code. That seems a good enough workaround. BUT I’d still like to know if I can access the Outlook forms/templates directly from zapier. Thanks!

Thanks Troy! It seems you are confirming that there is not a zap which can search or reference outlook templates/forms already designed in outlook. But it did indeed work when I used the html code from my already created/formatted outlook templates and simply pasted into the email portion of the zap step. So that’s a decent enough workaround for now.

Hi @Sotirios

The email content needs to be configured in the Zap step.

You can use ChatGPT to help you with the HTML/Markdown.

Tool to preview HTML: https://codebeautify.org/htmlviewer

There are other apps that allow you to send email and reference an email template.
