Question

How to create a To Do list in Basecamp 3 from a template using Zapier

Hey community!

I am trying to use a Zap that creates a new To Do list in Basecamp 3 based on a form submission from another platform. Zapier has the option to create the new To Do list, but I need it to be made based off of a To Do list template we have in Basecamp.

Does anyone have a solution for this by chance?

Hi @thomasleeward,

Welcome to the Community.

Zapier's Basecamp 3 integration doesn't support creating a To-Do list from a template, but you can use workarounds. Manually duplicate your template in Basecamp 3 after receiving a Zapier notification, or set up Zaps to create each To-Do item based on a form submission trigger. The latter requires more setup and manual updates if the template changes.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi @thomasleeward

That would likely involve using the Basecamp 3 API: https://github.com/basecamp/api?tab=readme-ov-file

Resources for using app APIs in Zaps:

To hire help, there is a directory of Certified Zapier Experts: https://zapier.com/experts
