I am a new user of Zapier so my question may be basic. I’ve looked through the community but can’t find an existing question that solves my problem.

Throughout my day, I make sales calls based on an Excel spreadsheet of contacts - the contacts are stacked in Column A. Whenever one of my calls results in a qualifying call being scheduled, I’d like to be able to enter the word “Deal” in Column G of the spreadsheet and have that data entry trigger a New Deal in my HubSpot for that contact. (The contact data is already in HubSpot - I just need a deal to be created associated with the contact’s record).

How do I do that?

The closest zap I can come to creating is the “New Row” trigger that sends a deal to HubSpot based on data in a particular row. That’s not what I’m looking for.

Any thoughts on how to fix? Or a workaround?

Thanks.

Hi @Joe_Kovacs,

Welcome to the Zapier Community! Your question is a great one, and I'm here to help.

Zapier's Excel integration doesn't support triggering a Zap when a specific cell in an existing row is updated, such as entering "Deal" in Column G. However, you can work around this by using Google Sheets instead. You can set up a Zap with Google Sheets that triggers when a specific row is updated. Then, use the "Create Deal" action in HubSpot and map the relevant fields from the updated row. This setup allows you to automatically create a deal in HubSpot when "Deal" is entered in Column G.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi @Joe_Kovacs

Try these Zap steps:

  1. Trigger: Excel - Updated Row

  2. Action: Filter

    1. Only continue if Column G = "Deal"

    2. Help: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/integrations#help

  3. Action: HubSpot - Create Deal

  4. Action: HubSpot - Find Contact

  5. Action: HubSpot - Create Association

    1. Contact to Deal

Thank you, @JammerS and @Troy Tessalone. I’m learning already and will try both of these options. Appreciate the support. Joe
