Question

How to combine JotForm submissions in a 2-step Zapier membership onboarding?

Zapiers,

I have a 2 step process for my membership on-boarding.

Step 1

Trigger

First the members sign-up for membership

  • email
  • password
  • first name
  • lastname

Action

Out of that I push that information into jotform

  • Submission ID# (jotform)
  • membership #
  • email
  • firstname
  • lastname

Next I have the users redirected to a jotform for additional data for that user.

Step 2

first name

lastname

email

location

likes

dislikes

etc

This issue is that I end up with two different jotform submissions

line 1   member #      first name.   last name    email

line 2                              first name.   last name    email     location    like      dislike.   etc

How do I feed step 2 into the same jotform submission instead of two different submissions?

I feel like I should be able to prepopulate the data once I have “email”

Hi @Cheshire Cat

Can you please clarify how this is related to your Zap?

Info about Jotform prefill: https://www.jotform.com/help/1805-what-is-jotform-prefill-and-how-does-it-work/

Sure, I’m trying to find a way using zapier to avoid this.  I have basically two zaps that I need I need a zap for when the member signs up  and I need a zap to update the table when the user completes my onboarding process.  but I need one record and currently end up with 2 records.

  1. sign up using memberspace
  2. continue onboarding process to update the record created in step 1.

Options for how to execute…

  1. Use this Zap action: Jotform - Assign Prefilled Form
  2. Use a Jotform prefill link: https://www.jotform.com/help/1805-what-is-jotform-prefill-and-how-does-it-work/

Both options will only result in 1 Jotform form being submitted.
