How to automate updating contact custom fields based on company changes

I’m trying to automate the process of updating the "Submarket" custom field on all contacts associated with a company whenever the Company's "Submarket" custom field is updated.

The Goal:

  • Each Company has a custom field called "Submarket" that categorizes it into a specific market segment.

  • Whenever this field is updated at the Company level, I want the same value to be applied automatically to all Contacts linked to that Company.

My Issue:

  1. Trigger Selection – “Pipeline Stage Change” is the only trigger populating.

My Questions:

  1. Trigger Selection – What’s the best Zapier trigger to detect when the "Submarket" field is updated for a Company?

  2. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi @KWitmer,

Welcome to the Community.

To automate company field updates in your CRM, use a trigger like "Updated Company" or "New or Updated Company," which isn't available in LeadConnector. Then, check if webhooks can detect changes. Once triggered by a change in the "Submarket" field, the Zap should find all linked contacts and update their "Submarket" field using Zapier's looping feature. To proceed, verify your CRM's available triggers, test webhook support, and consider Zapier's polling frequency if updates aren't immediate.

Let me know which CRM you're working with, and I’d be happy to provide more tailored guidance.
