Hi All

I have a sheet that has the responses to a web based calculator

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jvaKvZSPS6W8fB5kZoKjRdkr14pKzQD9SsT4aAWzyjY/edit?gid=0#gid=0

The web based calculator has a series of pages. I want to see if its possible to get the answers from the sheet (with the answers in the green cells) to populate the calculator (the URL for each page is in the sheet above). They need to be done sequentially and then get to the penultimate screen “check your answers” when the user can check them and press calculate to get to the final results screen. No log ins required etc.

Some pointers would be greatly appreciated - is this easy to do / possible?

Ultimately if it works I want to integrate with grid.is which will determine the answers in the green cells. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks in advance

Tony

Hi All - it seems I didnt get any replieds :-(

Sorry if I asked in the wrong format or there were not enough details - can I provide any more? Ignore the grid.is bit its just the Zapier bit to see if I link the sheet to the web based calculator in the google sheet in the first question.

Obviously if knoweldgable zapier folk think this is NOT doable by Zapier for any reason thats useful info too! Thanks in advance once again for any replies

Hi @TonyGGG 👋

We’re not able to access the spreadsheet so I’m not exactly sure what web based calculator you’re using? That said, am I correct in thinking that you’d like folks to fill out a form which has a number of different pages with questions, have the responses to each question logged in the Google Sheets then calculate the number of correct responses and display that to the person once they’ve submitted the final form - like a quiz? If that’s the case, does the web based calculator have a publicly-accessible API?

If so, the only way I could think of would be to use a webhook to calculate the scores and then send the results for that user into a database that’s storing their form submissions and then display that value on screen. Do you think that could work or does the web based calculator and the website you’re using to display the forms not have publicly-accessible APIs?

Alternatively, perhaps you could try using Zapier Interfaces and Tables for this?

I’m thinking you could potentially create a series of Interface pages that each have forms and use AI fields or a Zap to run formulas to run the calculations then show a table on the last page with their scores for each section. There’s a video here on how to use formulas with tables which you might find useful. Though to limit the results page to only show them specifically you’d need to have managed users set up see: Use dynamic filters to show personalized information which would require them to log in so not ideal. Or without logging in perhaps you could get them to create a nickname via the form and have a “leaderboard” with everyone’s results that hides personally identifiable information and just has everyone’s usernames and their score? Would that work for your use case here?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
