How to allow emails from 3 senders but block attachments from 2 of them and auto-send a “regret” reply?

“I want to receive emails only from 3 specific senders; attachments should be allowed from only 1 sender, and if the other 2 send any attachment, the email should be blocked and an automatic regret reply should be sent to them.”

@Deependra salvi  Use a Filter step to allow only emails from the 3 senders. Then add a Path: if the sender with attachments sends the email, allow it; if the other 2 send attachments, use an Action to send an automatic reply and stop the Zap.

but i am using 14 days trial version will it work in zapier

Hi there @Deependra salvi 👋

Using Filters and Paths like Hassaan Khan suggested would be the easiest way to add that sort of conditional logic to the Zap. Filters and Paths aren’t available on our Free plans but you would be able to test them out while on our Free trial. You can learn more about what’s included here: Get started with your free Zapier trial

That said, if you wanted to stick with the Free plan perhaps you could split things up across multiple Zaps and uses formulas for the conditional checks:

  • Have one Zap that triggers on the email and store a record of the email details in a different app like Zapier Tables for example.
  • Use two formulas in the table - one to output the value “matched” if the sender email on the email record is a match for any of those three emails. And have another formula check the email and output the value “allowed” or “not allowed”. Check out our Use formulas in Zapier Tables guide for details.
  • Then set up two views in the Table (see: Create views in Zapier Tables) - one to list only records that are “matched” and “allowed”. And another view to list “matched” and “not allowed” records.
  • Have another Zap that triggers on new records added into the first view and then carries out the necessary action.
  • Have another Zap on new records added into the second view and then sends the automatic regret reply email.

Hope that helps. If you give that a try and run into any issues or questions just let me know! 🙂
