I have a zap that sends emails from Gmail to Slack. Is there a way to limit the email body to a specific number of characters? The messages are too long. I only require the first 50 words or approximately 250 letters from the email body for my needs.

Hey there, @mccontracting! Thanks for reaching out in community. 🤗 

This should be achievable using a Formatter by Zapier action and the Truncate option.

So your zap might look like:

  1. GMail Trigger
  2. Formatter by Zapier - Text - Truncate
  3. Slack Action

In the interest of full transparency though this would require at a minimum a Starter plan due to the need for an extra step.
