How do I trigger my Zap when an Intercom event is created?

Hi,

I’m looking to create an automation that starts when an event is created in Intercom, however I don’t see this functionality in Zapier.

Is there an option to request that it would be added? I’ve seen that it is available on automate.io.

Thanks!

Hey folks 👋

Wanted to drop by here with a quick update to share that the team have decided not to pursue the feature request (to add a “New Event” trigger) at this time. That said, if anything changes on that front we’ll be sure to post a further update here!

For now, the workaround Troy suggested of using Webhooks by Zapier to subscribe to those events would be the only way to trigger off of new events in Intercom for now.

Please do reach out in Community if you have any questions or if there’s anything else we can help with in the meantime.

Hi @Tali Gueta

Good question.

Most apps on Zapier are built and maintained by the app developers themselves, but Zapier keeps an internal list of app requests and shares with the app developers.

Feedback and feature requests can be submitted via a ticket to Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

@Tali Gueta

The workaround is to use Intercom Webhooks: https://developers.intercom.com/building-apps/docs/setting-up-webhooks

The Zap trigger would be Webhook - Catch Hook: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

NOTE: This is an advanced approach, and if you need help consider hiring a Zapier Expert: https://zapier.com/experts

Hey @Tali Gueta! I just wanted to follow up here to let you know that a “New Event” trigger is not yet available for Intercom on Zapier but we do have an open feature request for it! I have added your vote so you will be notified if/when it gets added and we’ll be sure to update this thread as well. 🙂 Also going to call out @Troy Tessalone’s suggestion as a workaround!
