Question

How do I trigger a Zapier action based on a specific date change in my Google Sheet?

Hi everyone,

I have a gsheet with multiple rows and columns. Every day I can add some rows in my gsheet and I need to send that new information to my client gsheet. The problem I see is Zapier will run my zap for each row that I’m adding. I want Zapier to run only when I’m done editing. I created a button on my gsheet that will update the version of the file and add the date. when that date changes, Zapier will delete all the data on my client gsheet and replace it with the new data. How can I filter only on the date to triger Zapier?

Hi @elatreille

Zap trigger: GSheets - New or Updated Row

Add a Filter as Zap step 2: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Hi, Troy,

I tried but can’t make it work. The file looks like this.

When I click the send button, the date changes in cell A2. That change will trigger Zapier and Columns B,C,D,E, and F will then be added to the other sheet.

Do I need a Filter knowing that I can’t trigger on a cell itself but a column?

See screenshot when setting the trigger. I can’t use A2 in any cases.

By default, if I change the version this will also trigger Zapier no? This is why I will need to add the Filter? How can I set the Filter when a date changes? Should I use the filter on the version and use greater than previous number?
See what I see in the choices:

Let me know if what I’m trying to achieve makes any sense

Eric

@elatreille

An updated row means, 1+ column cell values changed.

You can add a Zap Filter step to check the updated Row/ID = 2.

The Filter step can have multiple conditions.
