I want to be able to have a trigger be a Square Subscription - when an existing or new client signs up. How do I set up Zapier to read that? I don’t think it is a invoice and it can’t be a new customer.

Try this Zap trigger: Square - New Payment
Check if there are data points that indicate the payment was related to a subscription.
Then you can add a Filter as Step 2: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help
