Question

How do I set up a delayed subscription renewal reminder using Zapier's free plan?

I'm pitching for a web design job that might use Zapier for some automation. As a test and demo is it possible to use the Free Subscription and set up a Zap that will:

1. Trigger - New Subscriber in Mailchimp
2. Send Email in Gmail
3.Delay for in Delay by Zapier (does this count as a ‘2nd Action?)
Delay for this might be 358 days, 51 weeks or 11 months as an example in a live situation (shorter for the demo obviously).

This demo would be used to demonstrate how we could use Zapier to send out a reminder that a User's subscription will renew in one day/week/month from the delayed ‘subscription’ date(?)

Can you suggest a better method perhaps - one that might be able to be used ongoing for each year the User is subscribed perhaps? Thanks for your help.

They have a number of other automations to address and I thought this one might be a good example to sell them on. But I don't want to get too far into this if it's not suitable - and sorry, I'm a total newb to Zapier. Regards Craig

Hi @Articonik

Good question.

Help articles about Delay: https://zapier.com/apps/delay/help

Zaps with 3+ steps require a Zapier paid plan.

You may want to use Airtable to track and trigger.

Airtable has Views, which are segments of data in a Table. (e.g. sort, filter, etc.)

Views can be used to trigger Airtable Automations/Zaps.

Airtable Automations have a native integration with Gmail to send email.

Airtable has Formula fields that can be used to calculate diffs between dates.

Thanks Troy - your help is much appreciated. Haven’t used Airtable before, I’ll take a look. The ‘Delay’ link is very helpful. Cheers
