How do I send personalised emails from Tally.so scores using Zapier?

This is definitely possible. 

Tally can send the calculated score as a field in the submission, then in Zapier you can:

Use Tally “New Submission” as the trigger
Use Paths by Zapier (or Filters) to route based on score ranges
Send the email via Gmail, Email by Zapier, ActiveCampaign, or Mailchimp, inserting the score and answers into the message

Yes this is entirely possible but it really depends on the exact calculation you want to do.

If it’s simple you can handle it directly in a Zap but if it’s complex I would recommend doing the calculations in Zapier Tables or Google Sheets. 

You sample workflow will look like this-

• Tally New Submission trigger
• Formatter- For doing the calculation
• Send Email Gmail action

This is a sample workflow and you need to add other actions like Filter, Paths etc as workflows are usually personalized to user’s needs. Hope it helps!

​@Troy Tessalone thank you for your insights and advice hear.  I will view the links you have kindly provided and gauge how I can integrate my Tally.so questionnaire calcs into Zipier.  I have previously completed my calcs in Tally.so which are not too complicated, so hopefully the links will make sense to me.  Thanks again.

Yes  once Zapier completes the score logic (Filters/Paths), it can automatically send the personalised email in the final step of each path (Gmail / Email by Zapier / Mailchimp), using the score and Tally answers as dynamic fields.

Hey Paul, to answer your latest question: No, you don't need to redo your calculations in Zapier!

Since you've already set up the score calculations in Tally.so, those calculated values are passed along when Tally sends the submission to Zapier. In your Zap, just map the score field from the Tally trigger directly into your Paths conditions.

For example:
- If score >= 80, take Path A with the high-performer email template
- If score >= 50, Path B with the moderate template
- Otherwise Path C with a different message

Each path ends with its own Gmail action with different email content. The key tip: when building the email body in each Gmail action, you can insert the score and other Tally fields as dynamic values, so the email reads like "Congratulations! You scored 87 out of 100" - all personalized automatically.

No need to rebuild what Tally already calculated. Just map the fields and set up your conditional paths.
