Hey there,

It seems to be a duplicate of an existing topic but that was not answered and it is closed.

I am having a hard time figuring out how to send the contacts through the DOI process of ActiveCampaign without doing some automations fake stuff.

Is there a solution out yet?

Thanks!

Thanks, but my question was not as clear as I expected. I know how to activate the DOI in a form in AC. But the question is how to address that form or the DOI process from zapier.

@marcushorndt

Which AC Zap trigger/action are you trying to use?

https://zapier.com/apps/activecampaign/integrations#triggers-and-actions

For this to happen I tried

  • Members and Contact
  • Form
  • Wix Custom Triggers

In neither of the cases the contact actually arrived somewhere in AC. Despite of the fact that I chose the right automation or group.

@marcushorndt

It may be that until the AC contact completes the DOI, that contact won’t show in AC.

I know what you mean, but they are not shown anywhere. They would be as “unconfirmed”.
But they even do not appear in zapier in the test data after reloading. Only John Doe...

@marcushorndt

For us to have more context, post screenshots with how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

WiX with “Wix Custom Triggers”

Wix with “Form”

last step: Both records are the same John Doe

Wix with “Members and Contacts”

Last step: All records are John Doe

That means, Wix does not recognize being connected to a zap

@marcushorndt

Can you post screenshots of the Zap action step you are using for AC and how that is configured in EDIT mode?

Yeah, but still...the contact does not even arrive in the trigger.

@marcushorndt

Have you tried turning the Zap ON and testing live?

Then check your Zap Runs history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to trace the data flow.

https://zapier.com/app/history/

Or you can try using a different Wix Automation action

Zap trigger: Webhook - Catch Hook

https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

Ok, thanks. Webhook actually works. Do not know if this is the solution the client wants but it works.

Yes, I tried it live but when the data is not in the test records it will not be working (and it did not).

But the actual question was, how to send them through the DOI.

More info from AC about opt-ins:

You may have to reach out to AC Support for guidance.

Thank you. I know what an opt-on list is and also how contact should be opted in. The second article also states that using the native AC forms should be preferred over any other possibility. That is what I am asking: How is the workflow sending contacts that arrive through zapier through the DOI process of AC? This process will be initiated through an AC form. But from zapier I cannot choose a form and therefore cannot start the DOI process properly.

The DOI does not depend on the list, but on the (AC) form.

Elementor does it with including the (AC) form id into the Elementor form and so the contact arrives at the right form in AC after opting in.

I do not see any possibility in zapier to achieve this result/behaviour.

@marcushorndt

You would likely have to use an AC Form to use the DOI feature rather than using a Wix form.

Ok, sad to hear. This is just such a small detail which is required in Europe and the solution you suggest makes the use of zapier obsolete.

But thanks for your time.
